Brainstorming is a technique used by many to generate ideas.  However, it is often misunderstood.  Many brainstorming sessions are ineffective and not a good use of time.  Have you ever wondered why?  Do you wish those you work with could find brainstorming useful?  If you are interested in unleashing your imagination and that of others, then this session is for you.  In this interactive session, you will experience proven techniques that make brainstorming easy and effective, and walk away with the ability to implement what you learned immediately.

At the conclusion of this workshop, you will be able to:

·       Identify how to "Defer Judgment" when generating ideas.

·       Utilize an innovative thinking tool to generate options to overcome challenges.

About the Presenter:

 Russell A. Wheeler, MS, is a workplace learning and performance professional with over 13 years of organizational innovation, operations, sales and leadership experience who has training delivery, design, measurement and performance consulting expertise. Russell is one of approximately 350 people worldwide with the credentials and expertise in facilitating and training individuals in innovative and critical thinking skills. Currently, Russell is a Training Specialist and Bank Officer for SunTrust University’s Atlanta Delivery Network. He is responsible for delivering a variety of training classes for the Atlanta retail banking division.

Russell holds a Master of Science degree in Innovation and Change Leadership from the International Center for Studies in Creativity at SUNY – Buffalo State College.

Directions:

Take I-75/85 South to the Courtland - Exit #249A.  Travel through approximately 5 traffic lights to Auburn Avenue.  Turn right onto Auburn Avenue and go through 1st traffic light.  Then turn left into SunTrust Bank parking garage and park on 1st level. Please do not park in spaces designated for “Customer Parking”.  

Take I-75/85 North to the Edgewood/Auburn Avenue - Exit # 248B.  Go straight through 1st traffic light and then turn left onto Auburn Avenue.  Travel through approximately 5 traffic lights to SunTrust Bank parking garage.  Turn left into SunTrust Bank garage and park on 1st level. Please do not park in spaces designated for “Customer Parking”.  

Take 78 to Ponce de Leon Avenue.  Continue traveling past North Highland Avenue.  Then travel through approximately 2 traffic lights to Freedom Parkway which is on the left.  Travel Freedom Parkway until you see International Blvd./Downtown Exit.  Take this exit and then go to Courtland Avenue and turn left.  Travel a couple of blocks until you see Auburn Avenue.  Turn right on Auburn Avenue and go through 1st traffic light.  Then turn left into SunTrust Bank parking garage and park on 1st level. Please do not park in spaces designated for “Customer Parking”.

After you park your vehicle on the 1^st level, follow the signs which read “SunTrust University” and proceed to the security desk.  You will need to sign-in and receive a visitor’s badge.  Take the elevator to the 3rd floor.  Exit right once you get off the elevator and follow the signs to the ASTD workshop.
